| Maggie is one of the horses that came in from the
Filley Feedlot in April 2007. She was one of
multiple mares that had be indiscriminantly bred by
whatever stud happen to mount her. She is 27-29
years old and foaled a sorrel colt on May 18th, 2007.

| We had been fighting to get weight on Maggie and
finally sent her into foster care when her colt was old
enough to be weaned. She did wonderfully there for
a few months, but in December when we got the cold
weather, Maggie started to drop weight again. She has
been brought back to the Rescue. |
|
| We have started her on dairy quality alfalfa and 6
lbs of senior feed twice a day. We will be
increasing her senior feed consumption next week.
This costs close to $200 per month. She
desparately needs a Guardian Angel to help cover her
needs. |

We are raising funds for
Maggie's feed. We need to raise $2400 for her food
for the 2008 year. This breaks down to $200 per
month. Help us feed Maggie!

Update:
Maggie went in to the vet's office
on 3-11-08 to have her teeth looked at and a physical exam.
The vet checked her teeth and said that Maggie was way older
than we had thought. She did not have any back teeth left
and he felt that she probably wouldn't put on much more weight
than what she already had. He felt that we might get
another year out of her, but that her quality of life was pretty
much gone. We humanely euthanized Maggie instead of making
her fight for maybe another year. RIP Maggie. |
