Jackie came to us with a severe soft tissue injury
to her left shoulder. She went to the vet and had
xrays taken which confirmed the damage to her shoulder.
She had been a feedlot horse and was kicked by a steer
with both hind legs into her one shoulder. We put
her on arthisoothe gold, as well as some alternative
treatments.
By her 3rd month here, she was dragging her leg.
By the 4th month she was finally showing improvements.
She now has very few days where she is off.
However, she will never be considered sound. She
will always have soft tissue damage in her shoulder
joint and be on medication to help improve it.
Jackie is due to foal any day. She had been
accidentally bred by a stallion from another pasture who
jumped the fence. Her foaling pictures will be
posted as soon as she foals.
